This place was pretty badass. We had just driven down from the Everglades by way of Miami and were looking to get some eats. Found Num-Thai on Yelp and was immediately drawn to the Thai+Sushi combination. Typically I don't like mixing sushi with other Asian cuisines and am skeptical of any place that does, but Num-Thai pulls it off wonderfully. And inexpensively at that! From the outside, it almost looks like a dingy blue-hue pool hall or something, set in a strip mall. And your eyes aren't deceiving you - it's very blue inside - the walls, the lights, the carpets. All blue. The food was fantastic, fresh, and flavorful. Some had drunken noodles, others vegetarian dishes, and pad thai. I had a spicy beef salad with lime juice and chili's, some spicy tuna salad, and a few pieces of sushi that were just perfect. Oh, and their sushi is $1 a piece. The most expensive roll is like $7. Doesn't get much better than that!

I don't care where you are in South Florida. If you are looking for good Sushi, great Thai food, and AMAZING service, go to Num Thai. It is by far my favorite restaurant in Key Largo, maybe even South Florida. It is a true hole in the wall establishment in your typical boring strip mall, but Num Thai is far from boring. Num Thai is always pretty busy, but I have never had to wait. They keep the flow of customers in/out going pretty well. Their service is top notch. I always have my drink(usually a glass of wine or a Sapporo) within about a minute of sitting down. The menu is huge, so ordering can be a daunting task, but a lot of fun. Now, I have been to quite a few Sushi joints, and I think Num-Thai is the best Sushi I've had in Florida. It's always consistent, and I always know what I'm getting. You can also order by the piece if you want to try a bunch of different rolls. I have been to Num-Thai probably 10 times, and everything about this place is consistent. I have never had a bad experience(service or food wise) and I always know what to expect. And the menu is very inexpensive to boot. You can easily spend $20/person here including drinks, and still have food leftover. I love Num-Thai.

Been living near this for 3 years and it is still my favorite spot in the keys! Amazing sushi and great friendly service. The crispy roll and rocknroll are amazing! Also try the tai tea!

By far the best Asian food in Key Largo. The sushi is fresh and inexpensive. I forgo having sushi in Miami during the week so that I'll be ready for my sushi fix down in the Keys on the weekend. Tom Yong Gong and Tom Ka Kai soups are to die for, and do not miss the Tuna Yuki for some tuna with kick of kimchee and cucumber, or the Tuna Tataki which is on par with that of Nobu's. Fried Rice is a must, and the Thai Doughnuts... well, you have to see for yourself.

An awesomely tacky place in a little strip mall, with awesomer food (ok, it's a tie).. We sat in one of the booths on the side, where you have to take off your shoes and sit on a platform with pillows - very Thai in style. This place was recommended for good vegetarian options, and it did not fail. Thai & Sushi, all under 1 roof. The menu is expansive, if you want it, chances are, it's somewhere on the menu. Completely affordable prices make it easy to try a variety of dishes. $1 sushi menu - what a great idea. Overall, a great, fun, kitschy, and affordable place. Great find.

we have a similar place in northern NJ that is our go to whenever we want authentic asian food we were here for 2 of the 3 nights we spent in key largo and the only reason why we didn't make it a trifecta was my wife wanted a place on a marina to sample a local marina restaurant atmosphere was terrific with excellent service, people nice, place is very clean, choices excellent, they even have a special that changes every night of the week and was delicious from soup, salad to entree and sides. this is definitely on our list when we return to key largo oops almost forgot, prices were very reasonable

Great food, fun seating arrangements. Was there in Jan 2008 and when I went back in April 2011, the hours of operation were minimal...so I missed out in getting a great meal there again:(

Came back for the 3rd time this week. This time for Dinner. Starte with the Tom Yum Goong. Shrimp was cooked perfectly, the broth was clear and refreshing. Also ordered the California Hand Roll. I'm not an expert on sushi so I can't tell you anything about it except that I liked it. Had the Basil Duck. Skin was crispy and the duck was juicy and tender. I was worried about this. You never know if a restaurant will try to serve you yesterday's duck. The vegetables were fresh and cooked just right. The restaurant was packed. I was lucky enough to snag a table even though it was by the door. Saw many patrons leave when there wasn't a table to be found. Even though the restaurant was full, service was quick. The servers work together as a team so you don't have to wait or try to catch the attention of your server when you need something. I can see why this place is so popular. Good service, good food and reasonabe prices are hard to find. Total bill including my hot tea. $25

Ok there are two things going on here.Thai and sushi. The thai food, was pretty excellent. I'd definitely recommend if you're looking for thai food. The crispy duck was shatteringly crisp, although due to being in the fryer to make that crust, the duck was slightly overcooked, but it seemed unavoidable if you wanted the outside that crispy. Now the sushi. This was disappointing for me. We actually wanted to get sushi and chose this place based on the other reviews. I noticed that there are limited sushi establishments in Key Largo (which is surprising to me...). We ended up getting a variety of nigiri and maki. The fish was mediocre at best. It seemed very obvious that the fish had come pre-frozen and shipped in to the restaurant. The tuna and the yellowtail where about the same quality that I could find in any frozen section of an asian market back home. This is puzzling considering Key Largo's fishing catches include yellowfin tuna and yellowtail. Why are they using frozen shipped in from a zillion miles away mushy fish? Aside from the freshness and quality of the fish, the octopus we had was over cooked and extremely chewy. The eel we had still had pin bones in it, which kept stabbing me in the mouth every few chews. Stick with the thai, and stay away from the sushi.

Pros-- Good Thai food in Key Largo (with sufficient veggie options if you are in a big group) Food was probably 4/5 and service was a 3/5 Service by the waiter was pretty decent but the owner seemed to have no interest in seating us because we were a group of 9 and he was busy..Expected a better reception..

We were looking online for a place to eat till i found a great review about this place, n everything they said was right..The food is AMAZING, the place is small but everything is so unique. The service is excellent..The price is so affordable n the sushi is one of the best i have ever tried. Enjoy y'all.

Great food!!!!! Tried several nigara sushi rolls, all fresh and tasty. I ordered the Red curry duck, and it was the best Thai food I've ever had.

So being I work right to this place I find myself eating here often some times to often for my own good. The food it great at a fair price. I have yet to get. A chance to have a sit down meal here but I look forward to the day that I can spare the time. Highly suggest for take out sushi.

Awesome rolls, extremely friendly service. Pad Thai was okay, wish we ordered curry instead. Cant wait to come back. I wish they had a better beer selection, but that problem is common throughout the keys.

I often get frustrated when I trust reviews and the place disappoints. This place was below average. We ordered a tuna roll & volcano roll. The tuna roll was basic-average, nothing special. The volcano roll was slathered with chopped up imitation crab in a sauce. Unfortunately, imitation crab is not very versatile - it was a stringy tasteless mess. We followed this up with the simplest items on the menu - fried rice & pad tai. Both were equally poor in quality and presentation. The fried rice was colorless and the only thing in it were huge chucks of onion and large slivers of a tough tasteless meat. The pad tai wasn't much better. It is true that the place isn't very expensive, but the quality isn't there. I did give a second star for service. Overall, I believe a simple menu of quality items would better suit the place but I would not give it a second chance.

Totally random...sushi and thai???? That's what I thought when I saw it in my tour book. What caught my eye was the $1 sushi. I was thinking, $1 sushi??? How bad can it be? Well, I got there and I was surprised. The sushi was fresh, teriyaki was tasty, thai was awesome! I wish this place was where I live. I live in the bay area, home of millions of sushi and thai restaurants so I know when something is good or bad. This place is a must visit if you love sushi and thai food. I went there twice in the span of 6 days while I was visiting Key Largo. I would have went one last time, but they're not open for lunch on Sunday's.

omfg, BEST and CHEAPEST sushi in Key Largo, let alone the US! $1 sashimi pieces that are thick, super fresh, thinking of moving to Key Largo now.

All I have to say is that is one of THEE best sushi houses across the keys. Theyre menu offers all the standars of sushi and the main sushi chef "Han" is amazing and friendly and you can seriously top yourself off at this place and walk out for about 35 a person. I will be eating here every night that I am here.. I could care less about any other seafood places along US 1... I AM SOLD!!!!

Good chef. A new twist on thai food. The jungle/panang curry had usual flavor with new presentation and veggies. Pad thai was good, the usual, nothing stood out odd in it like when some people use way to much egg. Sushi was authentic but I like americanized spicy tuna rolls. Although they did have fajita and other crazy fun rolls. Price and portions were expected for a place in the keys. They are thai and after traveling there for months you know when thai is authentic. Oh it was not spicy at all so ask for spicy if u know thai food. Not sure why they didn't ask and I forgot to specify. I didn't want to bother the server and they had no pepper flakes or peper oil or pepper vinegar :( I'd go again for the simple but good chicken panang curry. And try a more special/crazy sushi roll. theTsushi combo from 5-730 is $11.75 and we liked the octopus option the most, it was not chewy and came with veggies, miso, etc.

This is the best Asian restaurant in Key Largo because this is the only asian restaurant in Key Largo. Our family of 4 ordered several dishes. My shrimp Pad tai had 3 small shrimps and Pad tai was very sweet. It was $8.99, but the portion was so small they served some white rice on the same plate. We also ordered crispy noodle for appetizer. It was too sweet it was inedible (with 3-4 shrimp only also). Kids ordered sushi and they were okay, but one kid received salad only and the other kid received soup only even though we ordered both for both kids. My wife had a chicken curry and it was okay. The food was not authentic and severely altered to fit the american taste buds. I have been happy with the most of the yelp recommended restaurants, but you got it wrong on this one.

this place was great! read reviews and went w the suggestions- shrimp there was delectable. wish it was in a better location-like on the water. thai peanut sauce on salad was awesome! so creamy.

This is what Yelp is all about. Find a tiny hole in the wall restaurant, in a strip center, that normally you would drive by and instead, you stop and have an amazing meal. We spend a week in Key Largo each year and the kids demand that we go to Num Thai at least one night. Often, we make it our first stop, as we get to this area around dinner time. While it is not fancy, the food is wonderful and everything that I have tried has been fresh and delicious. A friend of mine lives close to Num Thai and his girlfriend was born in Thailand. They go their often, and she says the food is authentic. One night she cooked us a Thai meal and it was better then any meal I have ever had, so she certainly knows Thai food. When you go, here are a few things to look for. First, the sushi menu. There are a number of wonderful sushi items that you just don't see everywhere, especially the sushi that uses octopus and squid. At the same time, the curry dishes are excellent, as well. I am a sucker for Tom Kha Gai soup and theirs is exceptional. Seriously worth a visit.

Okay, I can't recall exactly what we ordered but my date and I enjoyed our meal entirely!!! It was a special dinner (birthday) so I felt it appropriate to order way more than the norm. We had edamame, a few sushi rolls, miso and tom yum soup and the vegetable curry. To say the least everything was delicious! The fish was incredibly fresh, locally sourced perhaps? ;) The curry was scrumptious as well. I was pretty full before the curry even came out but I still had room!! The Veggies were cooked perfectly, semi crispy and that sauce....mmm that sauce! Num-Thai is one of those places that greatly benefit from the Yelp community. Nestled in a shopping center, I would probably drive past without even noticing it and the decor is comical, yet fun! Don't be deterred by the underwhelming appearance, this place is legit!

  • Filipe F.

Worth a drive! For the keys and open late, very good. The variety and flavor makes up for the slow service. But can't complain if you have good company! They have been packed for the latter part of the evening. Food came out quicker than the server but again well treated. Sad there is no summer rolls, The Tom Kah was tasty but blend on the spicy

Atmosphere is great-food is fresh, sushi is very well presented and flavor incorporation is really great, we also had a great server and don't wait to long for food even though restaurant was busy. The Thai curry with glass noodles is a must try!

The California roll was excellent. That is the only compliment I can give. Pad Thai and Garlic Chicken dish had waaaay too much oyster sauce. We sent the garlic dish back. The combo app was subpar too. Best Thai? Only if there are zero Thai places around. Even then, I'd pass.

Visited this place right after the snorkeling tour. I was very surprised with their sweet service and good food. As we walked in, it smelled a little weird, however, you get used to the smell very quickly and don't let it discourage you. You'll like this place!

Went there based on Yelp. It was great friendly staff, clean. Not a fancy place but perfect for people on a beach vacation. Great sushi and Thai dishes Not expensive and good quality

My fiance and I stopped in while driving up from key west. The ambiance is fantastic and the restaurant was clean. The service was prompt, friendly, and helpful. I had the Boston handroll, and Washington Apple roll. This had Apples, snapper, crab, avocado and caviar on top. It was fresh and delicious! My fiance (not a huge Thai fan) enjoyed his sweet and sour chicken. We liked it so much that we ordered take out for dinner after snorkeling,

A great find. We went here after taking a day trip to the Everglades. We started out with a California sushi roll. It was really good. I had their daily special, Niku On The Beach. Sliced steak, 6 shrimp on Chinese veggies with salad and duck soup. It was all pretty good. The steak (don't know what kind) was a little tough. Shrimp was good as was the salad and soup. Wife had Shrimp Pad Thai. She forgot to ask for spicy so it was a little bland. But good. The service was great. The store was clean. We would return.

Lobster Tango Roll is the bombdiggity!!! I will come back here just for this. The price is right in this restaurant. Rolls start out around $3. Can't beat that!!! We also had the Satay Chicken and the Seafood Tom Kai Gai (coconut soap). Both was just alright. Will have to try more of their sushi and the Pad Thai. Owner Num was super cool. A great find in the Keys.

  • Todd J.

Not a bad little Thai place. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Has garlic chicken it was great! Good flavor just ask for extra sauce or gravy. Tom Landry Kai was lacking lemongrass but still ok. Sushi was decent. If ur craving Thai or sushi this spot is decent. Not super expensive either.

Outrageous amount of delicious sushi for half what we're used to paying up north. Flavorful and creative. Don't let the kitschy decor or sketchy strip center scare you. This is a treasure.

Heard nothing but positive things about this place, so finally checked it out. Located in a strip mall 1 mile south of Jimmy Johnsons Big Chill. I had a spicy tuna roll, stuffed tuna, and a tres hombres roll. Everything was fresh and delicious. The service was great, the Manager was very attentive, and the Sushi chefs were very friendly. When in Key Largo, you must try this place when you are craving sushi.

  • Patrick D.

Super good sushi. Looks kind of dumpy, it's in a strip mall, bayside. Don't be fooled by its looks, this is great sushi for a great price! The service is great, and the food is better, a vast selection of sushi and Thai food. They have great specials too. Check it out

The Sushi was awesome! My family and I went here for dinner and were really impressed by the size and quality of sushi. It was cheap, delicious, and amazingly displayed. The Chicken Pad Thai was less than impressive. Curry's were good.

Came here for dinner after whimsically deciding to roadtrip to the keys. Thank you, fellow Yelpers for guiding us here! Service was fast and polite, there seem to be an endless list of sushi and Thai choices. We ordered the sashimi appetizer that had generous mouthful chunks of fresh sashimi, almost too bug to handle with one bite. The California eel roll was OK. The California portion was good, but the eel tasted a little old. For entrees we had the duck red curry which was delicious and different from most Thai curries I've encountered at restaurants, which are often just bowls of curry soup with small bits of ingredients floating around. This curry here was mostly duck, fresh veggies, yummy basil, and the curry was just a sauce poured over the ingredients. Personally I prefer this over curry soup any day! :) I also requested a pork and broccoli dish which wasn't on the menu. The broccoli was cooked to a perfect tenderness, and the meat was well seasoned and tasty. The dish was not too greasy or heavy, and just the right amount of flavor. Simply my favorite of the evening. :) Would highly recommend this place!

I have huge trust issues with Thai restaurants in non-urban areas because I have a predisposition to think that the food is inauthentic, which in my experience, it usually is. This becomes even more so when coupled with a touristy environment, so I was skeptical when we stopped here for a quick bite. I ordered Pad Thai which was a huge risk since I didn't know whether it'd be red/ketchup-y or the real tamarind sauce kind. Luckily, it was tamarind based and decent, although it was a little bit too sweet for me and not spicy at all. My parents ordered fried rice and ginger chicken, which were all pretty decent. With lunch special prices hovering around $6.50, this place is a gem, and definitely the only Asian restaurant you can find in this area.

  • Jessy L.

Sushi was great! You could tell it was fresh. The chicken fried rice was excellent. Great selection of sushi rolls among other entrees. The service was fast. The décor was really cool! I liked how the waitresses wore little hello kitty outfits. That was a cute touch. I would definitely go back!

Upgrade to 5 stars. Maybe they were just having an off night my first visit last year (that's what has been deterring me from returning even though we live near by).. This time I came with my boyfriend on a Sunday evening. It was very packed but they got us seated relatively quickly near a couple that comes in frequently. As soon as the other couple sat down, the server came over and knew their exact order by heart. I like that they get to know their regulars. Our service was very good. She was very attentive and all the servers helped each other with refills and bussing plates etc. All of our rolls, sashimi, fried rice, and crab Rangoon appetizers were delicious. They also had them plated much better than last time. The plates were decorated and it looked like they put thought into how they set it on there (last time the plates were very plain and almost like they just threw the food on there and called it good). I think sushi is not only something delicious to enjoy but a little bit of an art when it's plated and presented properly. My boyfriend says we should make this our new sushi regular spot.

Sushi review - stick with the standards and you're golden. Try something a bit less standard, e.g. ama ebi, hokkigai, and you're probably getting something less fresh. I'd also recommend sticking with either rolls or sashimi, as their rice is poorly seasoned / formed (mushy) and doesn't balance with nigiri very well. The main thing Num-Thai has going for it is that it's cheap. Their standard sushi items (tuna, salmon, etc) are good, taste fresh, and are only $1 / $1.25 per piece. The salmon & escolar were quite good and I could eat a whole plate of it for $20. If you're in the mood for sushi in the keys, and you have a few dollars to spend, you're probably best off going to Kaiyo. If you're in the mood for sushi and only want to spend $20, Num-Thai's not a bad choice. I have to go 3* because if you're a sushi joint, you should do all sushi well, or you shouldn't serve stuff that's borderline.

Pad see eww was Very very salty. Noodles just not right. Thai iced tea way to sweet. Seems like just have a lot going on. Looking around did not see any of the Thai dishes looking familiar or presented nicely. The Japanese dishes appeared well prepared and were tasty.

Great service. The people are always so nice! Great sushi. They have awesome specialty rolls. Salmon sushi is always on point. Melts in your mouth good. Absolutely the best sushi place in the upper keys and for the right price. I always order their Fuji Roll. I recommend it to any sushi roll lover, not always on the menu but I always get it without any hassle. Every time I frequent Key Largo to visit my parents, I stop here first to satisfy my cravings, no joke! It always gets packed too.

Kind of a hole in the wall and recommended to us by a local (scuba diving instructor from Scuba-Do), we tried Num Thai after our day of scuba diving, and it was fantastic! I love sushi, and we got the lobster largo tango roll, and it exceeded my expectations. Also got the Penang curry, which was so good, I never wanted to stop eating it! Delicious, and really wish I could take this place home with me! Highly recommend! Decently priced also- we ordered a sushi roll, two entrees, and two alcoholic beverages and spect $50. Definitely worth a stop!

  • PK L.

The good... steam mussels appetizer was good. The meh... shrimp tempura was not made with panko breadcrumb! The seafood rock and roll did not really rock or roll, because the special Thai sauce was weak... then the pad thai was truly subpar. It was more noodles than other ingredients that you normally expect in a real pad thai. The bad... the sushi chef conversing in thai clearly did not know that one of them was wearing the bandana upside down. The japanese words sadly gave it away. Not that you have to be japanese to make sushi, but when you notice one thing after another that is not going as expected, you would start to pick up on the details.... Long story short, this restautant has a confusing and conflicting identity. Since everyone clearly is thai, do us all a favor, just focus on thai food and make some kick a$$ thai for us, ok?

We have been visiting this restaurant for 10 years and we are never disappointed. The sushi is fresh and the hot plates are always delicious. The chicken fried rice is the best I've tasted and my husband is a regular with the volcano and the rock and roll rolls- both are delicious. The service is prompt and friendly. They make it a point to remember our standard requests of extra sauces or specific drinks. Don't be discouraged by the strip mall location, it is worth the visit!!

One of the more impressively bad sushi bars I have been to. Walked in and sat at the bar. Service was incredibly slow. Ordered some cali rolls and a set of rainbow to try the fish. Nothing is very fresh, and I didn't even get a pen to sign my receipt.. Had to ask for one... I do not recommend

Several blocks at most from the waterfront, this fresh catch restaurant features $1 nigiri sushi, first and foremost. Expertly cut/wrapped/rolled, it's cheap and practically still fighting you it's so fresh. After that it's a conga line of Thai and Japanese flavor to your face. Curries, basil sauce, noodles, miso, tempura, everything is fresh and fantastic and this wealth of excellent food preparation tempts one to overeat out of appreciation. The decor is island cute, with classic Thai lowered seating available by the huge sunset mural along the back wall. The servers are numerous, speedy, and they all seem to know what's going on with your table/order. Don't miss the fried ice cream at the end of the meal.

Great atmosphere, good food, great prices. If I lived here, I'd be a regular. The restaurant is very nicely decorated, in accordance with Key Largo color schemes, etc. for it's outer eating area. It also has a "Thai" room with more Thailand-specific decor. The Thai menu is quite extensive, especially if you like curry. My tablemates really liked the panang curry, and the one special we ordered had a large portion and tasted great. They also serve sushi. As coconut milk is not my favorite, I chose several sushi rolls to try. The spicy tuna is ok, but small, but the spicy sauce on it is excellent (try it on the Spicy Conch sushi item). The unagi roll was not as good as I'd hoped. The best thing I had was the stuffed tuna. Thinly sliced tuna sashima wrapped around spicy crab and roe stuffing. It was VERY good. Someone else had a hand roll which was very nicely presented. The prices were very reasonable. Unagi roll at $5, tuna rolls at $4, and nigiri at only $1!! The Thai food was also very reasonable, except if you got the "fish" version, as they give you the whole fish with it, so it costs more. All in all, I liked it, especially as it gave me the opportunity to eat with my friends who wanted Thai, when it isn't my favorite. The sushi add-on to the restaurant is a good plus.

I was here during vacation looking for some dinner one night. I order the vegetable pad thai here and felt that it was much too salty to my taste. It seemed like all the soy sauce got sucked into the noodles. I ate about half the noodles and just ate the rest of the veges.

Visited Num-Thai during our visit to Key Largo. We ordered Tom yum goong as appetizer. Soup had plenty of fresh shrimp but was not very authentic Thai style. Based on the soup, we opted to stay away from the Thai menu and ordered sushi instead. Entrees: - Duck red curry: duck was extremely dry and on the sweet side. One person in our group decided to remain with Thai menu despite of our advise. - Lobster sushi roll: possibly one of the best ways to eat lobster! If I can rate this alone, I would have given the restaurant a higher rating. - Spicy tuna roll: meh..tuna roll topped with siraccha style hat sauce instead of having spicy sauce laced through the chopped tuna. - Various other rolls and nigiri pieces: fish was OK and too much rice. Decoration - nice. Service - waitress seemed to be having a bad day. I do not plan to return except to pick up a lobster roll to go.

I am very picky about Thai food - I really love good, authentic flavors. I really enjoyed my dinner here tonight. It was fantastic. The service was amazing. The Massaman curry was delicious. Some dishes had a twist to them, but it was done really well. I HIGHLY recommend this place. The decor is a bit kitschy, but don't let that hold you back. Our spicy tuna rolls were amazing.

My boyfriend used to live in Key Largo and this was one of his favorite spots. We were down to visit and had everyone meet us at Num Thai for dinner. Basically, we started with a table of six and kept expanding into the tables next to us until we had about 20 people. I have no idea how the staff was able to stay organized while serving us and not hate us by the end- we were randomly ordering things from different servers, ordering things for people who had not yet arrived, eating things that other people had ordered and then ordering another dish to replace it, etc. They were not only able to remember what everyone got, but they actually offered to separate the checks out for us in any way we would like. The whole time they were very pleasant and I got the feeling that they actually liked us and thought our crazy impromptu banquet was fun. The check we got in the end was accurate and I was totally impressed. It wasn't like business was dead and we were their only concern- the dining room was full. Great service! For dinner we had the conch and octopus appetizers (basically sashimi with a sauce on top). Both were absolutely wonderful. I live in San Francisco and I eat really amazing sushi whenever I want, but conch and octopus both make Floridian sushi special. I also had an appetizer that consisted of tuna wrapped around crap in a spicy mayo. That was so good we almost got a second order. I tried some of the fried appetizers other people ordered which were fine. There were also a bunch of rolls passed around- all were good, a little drier and more thinly sliced than I like. Basically, you get a wide roll that is thinly sliced and they need to have drier rice to keep that together. I prefer to have it the more traditional way. Last was the green curry. It was good, but I was too full by then thoroughly appreciate it! We will be back to Num Thai next year.

Great pad Thai and sushi. The locals were packing it in here. That pretty much says it all. It would take me several visits to try all of the menu items that look good.

my favorite place in the keys, sushi is great fresh and thats just the start, every night they have specials and they range from fish, to duck to chicken and the noodle dishs are to die for, dessert is a must ' fried dounuts' are the bomb, simple but a must to try. One of the hot spots in the keys,

Service was great and quick, but the red curry was bland. I added tofu for protein and found it to be tough. My companion enjoyed his cucumber roll and tempura appetizer. Relaxed atmosphere, definitely a favorite for the locals. Easy parking, as it's in a strip mall.

Thank you, Yelp, once again for steering me into an awesome place I may not have otherwise found. We stopped here on a weeknight fairly late, so I was impressed they were even open. We got to sit at this neat sitting area where you had to take off your shoes and put your feet in a hole in seats that resembled car seats - very Asian! Based on the Yelp recommendations, we had the red curry, which was very good. We made it just at the tail end of happy hour, so we were able to get the lunch-sized portion which came with soup - although the dinner portion would have been hearty, too. The $1 sashimi is great, and it allowed us to pick and choose a variety of fish instead of just sticking to 4 or 5 pieces of the same thing like some other places do. We decided to splurge on one sushi roll, too. The name escapes me at the moment, but it was the only roll with real crab meat. We just had to try it, since usually at sushi restaurants they just serve the "krab". Very tasty and the perfect way to end our meal. Service was good, although at one point we had two different people coming up to our table claiming to be our waiter. It got a little confusing. But the servers were very attentive and very accommodating to giving us the happy hour specials even though we came near the end.

Dined here per yelp review. Not really thrilled with the flavor. Ordered whole fried snapper and Thai salad. Both flavor are bland. The red curry sauce has no red curry flavor, the cook forgot to season the fish before dusted it in flour, the peanut sauce needs some tangyness, too sweet for salad dressing. Price is value for the money, but I am a foodie price is no object for good well seasoned foods.

We came from Tampa and was surprise there was a thai place here. Sushi was good. I had pad thai shrimp was good. Most of all the staff here are extremely friendly. I would recommend to anyone.

This was the blandest, worst Thai food I've ever had. The place was lively and the staff was attentive and nice, but both the Pad Thai and the red curry were tasteless.

Great little find in Key Largo. Sadly the keys suffer from generally poor restaurants due to most places catering purely for tourists, so repeat business is not much of a consideration. This place clearly is supported by both locals and tourists. I was very happy to stop for lunch today, perfect creamy Tom Ka Kai soup, very nice ginger dressing for the simple salad and a really nice green curry with chicken. It was a little sweet and perfectly balanced. All of this and it was a real bargain. Would recommend to anybody. Thanks

I don't believe the sushi is the best but for the price it's pretty good. Thai lunch is like $6 a plate which is a steal. My miso was a bit strong/salty. The sashimi was okay especially for the price. The rolls were okay and the service was very helpful. I think this place is more of a bargain than the best sushi I've ever had but for Thai food it's solid. They definitely have some good combos and variety plus lunch is busy for a reason. What a steal.

Late lunch...sushi! Best & cheapest lunch specials in town til' 3pm. $1 sushi all day & night:) It's the locals favorite place!

We went to this restaurant because of the good reviews on Yelp. The sushi was below average and the crispy duck was very crispy and very dry. Not good. Coffee after dinner was so bad, I think it had been sitting on the warmer for several hours, it was not drinkable. The service was quick and everyone was pleasant and courteous. I would not recommend this restaurant for a good meal.

Good sushi at amazing prices! I went to visit Key Largo and after finding this place on Yelp, I had t go in for a meal. For a meal, that's how it started; how did it end? I had two dinners and a late lunch here; did I mention I was only in Key Largo for 3 days and 2 nights? I highly suggest stopping by and checking this place out; I am not saying it's the fanciest restaurant nor will I say they have the best sushi in the world; what I will say is when I asked the hotel employee if it was worth checking out, his eyes lit up and he highly suggested it. They offer Thai food as well as Sushi and if in the mood for just dessert, go in for the Thai Doughnuts!! I don't visit Key Largo too often, but I can assure you every time I visit from here on out, I will be visiting Num Thai as well. No questions asked - it is as good as it gets here in Key Largo! 5 stars

On our recent visit to Key Largo we went to Num Thai twice. We had been previously several years ago. The first visit this trip was slightly disappointing -- my dish came with two of the three ingredients that I had asked to be excluded. My guest's selections were great - the spider roll and sweet and sour pork. The green tea wasn't hot enough on either visit. On the second visit, things went better. We sat at the sushi bar which may explain why the service was better the second time. My order was prepared correctly, too. Prices are very reasonable. The decor cracks me up - tiki bar meets asian variety store.

A very unique combination of cuisines, Thai and Japanese, it was perfect for the hubby and me since I love Japanese and he is crazy about Thai. We are complete vegetarians and the staff at num Thai made sure our food was free of fish sauce, chicken broth and other such animal ingredients. We shared a veggie hand roll, a veggie roll and a pad Thai between the two of us and were beyond full. 4 stars for getting a pad Thai when we ordered a pad kee mao. Besides that, the staff was super friendly, attentive, service was quick and the food was delicious. I would surely go back here again.

Their dinner specials run from 5:30 to 7:30 and cost $6.99-$7.99. Their red curry is amazing. Our sushi was also good, not great. The service was friendly, fast and helpful. When you get tired of paying tourist prices and getting bad service at tourist traps, come here. If you want it oceanside, my suggestion is to get it to go and sit on the pier at Harry Harris Park. We'll be coming back for sure.

Fantastic sushi, great service, and shockingly good prices. Be sure to try the pad thai and the rainbow roll. If you're a fan spicy food, let them know and they'll service you up great noodle dishes. There was a nice crowd here on a Monday evening which I think serves as a testament to the quality of the restaurant.

I eat at Num Thai as often as possible! Sometimes more often! The people are super friendly, and the food is absolutely to die for!!! The sushi is the freshest and tastiest to be found. I can honestly say that I haven't had a bad meal here. Everything is delicious. And presentation is gorgeous! All for a very reasonable price. Nothing bad AT ALL to say about this location.

This place is fun to stop by on your way down to the Florida Keys. Very kitschy! Eclectic decorations. Sushi rolls are huge. Prices are fair. Not the best sushi, however, the service is good and the food is not bad.

Really good!!!! We went to the beach at the National Park that is in front of it, and looked in Yelp for the reviews. We decided to stop in here and, oh boy!! What a nice surprise!! The food is amazing, Sushi is so fresh that almost moves in your plate....delish!!, service perfect, location is not great, but don't let that to take you down...you will enjoy a perfect, fresh and delish meal!!

Ok so I wasn't sure about getting sushi here, I read a lot of different reviews. But I must say it was very good. We ate some at the restaurant and took some to go. I had the largo roll, half spider half shrimp tempura. It was sooooo very good, never had a roll like that. The Boston roll and stuffed tuna was also really good

During a week-long stay in Key Largo with my girlfriend, we ate at this place about 4 times between dinner and lunch. Was it the best Thai food we ever had? Can't say that it was, but it was up there are very good, tasty, good priced, and many different options. So we were happy to eat there for sure. After trying several things on the menu, we both came to the conclusion that their soups were quite good and refreshing and their noodle dishes were a specialty of theirs. We tried many of the 'standard' dishes of veggies/sauce/meat/tofu/rice, and while they weren't bad, they did have us missing the noodle dishes.

Just left. The OWNER or MANAGER screwed up my order. When I asked about my food - he quizzed ME about what I ordered! No apology, no attempt to correct the order. NOTHING. Food that I did get was fast but the customer service isn't good. Will not patronize this place again. Done.

Freshest made to order sushi I have ever had! Try the "exotic rolls"...the rolled white tuna is out of this world!

  • Chris B.

Surprisingly good stuff! The variety on the menu gave us pause, as experience tells us that all-over-the-map doesn't often translate to dishes well made. Ordered traditional Thai curries and sushi for our neal. Sushi was fresh, flavorful and portions were large. Curry dishes were creamy, well flavored and featured tender meats and fresh veggies. Prices were very reasonable for the portions and quality, especially considering the inflated prices we paid for lesser meals on the Keys. Had we been spending more time on Key Largo, we certainly would have had a 2nd meal here!

    (4)
  • Rebecca S.

Overall a pretty good thai place. We got some really delicious curries that we were happy with especially the Basil and Panang. The sushi was not exactly what we were expecting namely because we ordered spicy tuna and then got tuna with some spicy sauce on top instead of normal spicy tuna so there's your warning. The place was very busy which was slightly annoying because there was a wait to be seated but once we were there they tried to get us our food quickly which we appreciated.

Really good tofu pad Thai. Yummmmm. We tried the Thai egg rolls as well, which were good. One of the best Thai iced teas I've had, too--not sickeningly sweet.

Go! Go! Go! Need I say more? Food = Fresh Always. Prices= Best around especially the early bird specials through 7:30. We eat here a few times per week. Not the most inspired atmosphere but staff is great, service nonstop, and can't praise their quality, menu, and price any higher. If you enjoy going out to eat with the family, but need to budget, but insist on quality and freshness...this is your jam.

Num Thai is the perfect place in the Florida Keys to grab a bite of sushi. With prices ranging from 2$ - 20$ it has a little bit of everything for everyone, kids included. The atmosphere is relaxed, they have two seating areas, the one in the back being a little less casual; so you can dress up or down. Every time I've eaten here the server has been friendly and attentive. The food is a 10/10 with great display on decorative plates and delicious food. A go too favorite for me and everyone I know !

I went to Key Largo on vacation and Num Thai was in walking distance of where we were staying. Deciding to give it a shot, we were all very pleasantly surprised. The interior of the restaurant is wild- disco balls and Christmas lights are among the many things to look at. The prices are reasonable and the portions are good. We loved it so much that we went back again on our last night! The Pad See Ew with Beef was phenomenal.

Fresh fish (I had a lot of sashimi and all of it was great), and amazing service. It's the perfect spot for a meal once you've tired of the strictly-touristy places. Located in a strip mall and doesn't look like much from the outside, free parking in open-lot, and very small sake selection. Don't expect fancy but if you're looking for a casual tasty dinner, I highly recommend this spot!

We went to this restaurant because of the good reviews on Yelp. The sushi was below average. We ordered thai noodle boat (thai pho) and the waitress was like we will make it special thai style (she was very nice) and the noodle soup came out in a small little bowl which I was disappointed... But when I tasted it, it was horrible! So it's a good thing it was not in a big bowl, less waste, since I was NOT going to eat it. It was like you just throw dry noodles in the water and throw some dry meat in it. My fiance ordered Tom Yum Soup (as he always does when he goes to a Thai rest), and it was luke warm! Yucky. The service was good, they were very attentive, but watch your bill carefully, they had so many menus that the wait staff will get confused which price to charge you... They were trying to charge us a higher price and not the special/happy hour price. I feel so bad if people in Largo think this is a good Thai food. They should try real Thai food. However, I understand that this is probably modified again and again to suite the taste of the locals.

AbsoLUTELY Fantastic!!!! Every sushi roll we ordered was amazing. I was SUPER stuffed, and wanted to keep eating til I exploded it was THAT GOOD!!! Girls night = Sushi and Saki! Good and Good!!!!! We had Sapporro Lights all around, several things of saki, edemame, and about 5 rolls to split between 4 of us. Not a single one of us wanted to move after that meal for about 72 hours... I almost ordered it for pick up on my way out of town!!! The waiters were plentiful, and several took care of us. It was more like a team-effort! They were all very nice and took care of us quickly! With all that food and plenty o' drinks ordered, the bill was not even that expensive. With tip I think that it wasn't more then $25 a person! I can live with that!!!

First off my boyfriend and I are from Chicago. Holy moly Num Thai Key Largo!! Loved this place!!!! A nice little sit down oriental restaurant! My boyfriend had the fried chicken wings and the Thai egg rolls. Both were very delish!!!! I had the crab rangoon and an order of sushi. I am familiar with what Chicago has for sushi combos, so when the waitress saw I was having difficulty picking something, she told me I can order whatever I wanted in my sushi! I got raw salmon, avocado, asparagus, and cream cheese (a Philadelphia roll where I come from.) Not only was it a bigger roll than what I am used to (more left overs, yay!!!) but it was some of the tastiest sushi I ever had! I also asked for a side of what ever spicy sauce she recommended! I don't know what it was, but it paired perfectly with my sushi!!! Had a few Sapporo beers and boom!!! Perfect yummy evening! Prices were average and expected for good sushi! Definitely will visit again when I head back to Key Largo!

I have been happy with the most of the yelp recommended restaurants, but you got it wrong on this one.

this place was great! read reviews and went w the suggestions- shrimp there was delectable. wish it was in a better location-like on the water. thai peanut sauce on salad was awesome! so creamy.

The good... steam mussels appetizer was good. The meh... shrimp tempura was not made with panko breadcrumb!

Done.

Our spicy tuna rolls were amazing.

my favorite place in the keys, sushi is great fresh and thats just the start, every night they have specials and they range from fish, to duck to chicken and the noodle dishs are to die for, dessert is a must ' fried dounuts' are the bomb, simple but a must to try.

Thanks

  • Lucy W.

Really good!!!! We went to the beach at the National Park that is in front of it, and looked in Yelp for the reviews. We decided to stop in here and, oh boy!! What a nice surprise!!

I love Num-Thai.

we have a similar place in northern NJ that is our go to whenever we want authentic asian food we were here for 2 of the 3 nights we spent in key largo and the only reason why we didn't make it a trifecta was my wife wanted a place on a marina to sample a local marina restaurant atmosphere was terrific with excellent service, people nice, place is very clean, choices excellent, they even have a special that changes every night of the week and was delicious from soup, salad to entree and sides. this is definitely on our list when we return to key largo oops almost forgot, prices were very reasonable

Been living near this for 3 years and it is still my favorite spot in the keys! Amazing sushi and great friendly service. The crispy roll and rocknroll are amazing! Also try the tai tea!

Great find.
